RARE Red Canvas R51 Marble Crossbody Bag

If you know your dooney enough, you know this is a rare gem!

It is an authentic, adorable pint-sized vintage Dooney and Bourke red canvas and burgundy leather trim crossbody handbag that is an older Dooney design that has been around for decades, and was part of the original Dooney Tack Bag Collection: the Over & Under Marble Bag.

Think of this little rugged Marble Bag as a small crossbody pouch, perfect for stashing your necessities. It makes for an excellent festival/concert bag! The strap on this one is detachable and adjustable at both ends via 5 notches.

This bag is the earliest dooney products with the green label, ways earlier than either the D&B fob as well as the authentic serial number label era.

It is extremely rare that this bag made it to today, over 50 years later with such incredible quality and condition.

What I did : I cleaned it all over, inside out with professional leather cleansing cream, slightly polished all the edges with leather protection cream in the same colour and a smooth almond oil cream to keep it's shine. All solid brass hardware has been polished.

Conditions:

This bag is in Excellent pre-own condition. Below are a list of details that describe the overall condition:
- In general, the red canvas shows gentle patina which looks so rustic and very stunning, authentic vintage style it sparks.
- There are loosen threads on the tip of the closure tongue, check close-up, but it has been professionally glued.
- All trimming are also nice and smooth, do shows aged like wrinkles in the leather surfaces but it looks very natural in a bag that over 50 years old.
- There is a rip in one side of the flap which is very normal, and which will not affect usage. Check last photo for the close-up of the rip.
- The strap is in good condition, no rip no crack.
- Interior is clean, neat, no marks or dirt spotted.
